How do I tame my lovebird again?

My lovebird was tame but after a month of not holding him because I got too busy, he became wild. I feel really guilty that I did not play with him but how do I tame him again. When ever my hand gets near, he gets out of control and when I hold or pet him , he bites me really hard. He did not do that before though. He was tame before because I raised him ever since he was a baby since I own his parents also. But now he lost his trust in me, please help me and give me some ways to get his trust back and tame him again. Thanks for your help.
