This is a tuff question to evoke a little thinking in a direction i hope solves a problem?

if taxes were volunteery would we be here in this mess today?would wars be funded that were unjust ? would people be sleeping in the streets? would people go without proper medical treatment?would our retirment be in the hands of government?would politicians get paid as much and do so much wrong to further selfish intrests?is it time to re-invent ourselfs as a nation to be more peacefull and compasionate people in the light of all we now know today ?please think this through and give me an answer I think government should ask me for my money not just take it away each year as they do now allowing failed programs not to dry up and blow away on there own .but continue on over and over with no end in sight.
