Cat: Acute Nystagmus with Vertigo?

My dog has had this very same thing. It is called vestibular disease or syndrome. The cause is often unknown but is sometimes related to inner ear infections. The animals usually recover fully within a week or so. A vet can help with supportive care until the animal recovers. It is more common in older cats and dogs.
