Canary Wont lay eggs?
Alright i am a rookie bird breeder. Ok i bought two canaries 2 months ago, male and female who have been proven pair. They have had successful clutches etc. Now i decided to breed them after one month and i put nesting material as well as a nest. The hen seemed interested and the next day she made a nest. Then all of a sudden she began rebuilding it. This continued for one week until she was pleased with her nest. She sat in it for one week, but no eggs. Then they started to mate. Note : Process is about 1 second or something. They do this everday. Now its been around 1 week days since the process began and i saw no eggs. Eveyrhting is ok by the way: They have enolugh light, and they have been given good food (egg, seeds, grit, cuttlebone, veggies etc) . Then i decided to seperate the two. Then the next day i see an egg at the bottom of the cage broken. So i return the male canary, and all of a sudden its been two days and no egg. So i need help what do i do, should i reseperate them so the hen can lay eggs or should i leave them....
