What should I do about my gallbladder? Should I wait for my insurance?

I know I have gallstones, I have the upper right pain, the indigestion, the shoulder pain, back pain, gas, etc. The only thing is, that my insurance hasn't kicked in yet, I just sent in my initial premium. What should I do? I dont want to go to the ER and have all of the nurses and doctors look at me like an alien because I don't have insurance.
